Indian Railway - Booking Train Tickets Made Easy

Indian Railway is owned and operated by the Government of India, and it comes under the Ministry of Railways. It has its headquarters at New Delhi. The railway runs a large network of rail lines connecting almost all parts of the country, which no other modes of travel could reach. Most of the people in India prefer train travel over any other mode of travel.

The online booking of tickets introduced by IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, has made booking of tickets very simple and easy. You have to first register your name on the website to book tickets online. It is not only the booking of tickets, but also other facilities like checking the availability of trains, seat availability, train timetable, prices of tickets, etc are offered on the website. After checking everything, you can make the payment through your credit or debit card and then have your e-ticket or i-ticket, whichever you opt for. Even cancellation of tickets is possible online, and you get the refund credited to your account within a few days.

If your ticket is in RAC, you can check the PNR status of your ticket by giving the 10-digit PNR number given at the top left-hand corner of your ticket. By entering this number you will get all the details of your ticket and you can check whether your ticket has been upgraded or not. If the ticket gets confirmed, you will get to know the coach number and seat number when you check the Indian Railway PNR status of your ticket.
